- It sounds like you are trying to set the baudrate in the box at the
- bottom of the Baudrate area within the Duart Prefs program. If you set
- this to some number that your modem is incapable of (the range is 2 to
- 172800), then duart.device will use 9600 baud. If you are using a 14.4
- modem, you should select, at most, the 57,600 setting (higher won't get
- you any more, MNP won't compress to more than 4 times the modem's baud
- rate). I have the 57,600 setting button selected, but have 28800 setup
- within the box at the bottom. It is possible that you have some much
- higher number in the box and duart.device is ignoring your other choice
- because of this.
